Purpose and objectives

  • Purpose and objectives of transfer payment program: The transfer payment program is made pursuant to section 25.1 of the Public Servants Disclosure Protection Act (PSDPA) and supports the Core Responsibility of the Office. It provides access to legal advice in a timely and effective matter to qualified individuals and ensuring that the rights to procedural fairness and natural justice are upheld.

Expected results: The transfer payment program’s expected result will be to provide eligible individuals under the PSPDA with access to legal advice about their situation, rights, obligations and assistance in determining their best course of action. This will help ensure a fair, timely and transparent process where inquiries and investigations are conducted efficiently and in accordance with the PSDPA and ultimately contribute to increased confidence in Canadian federal public institutions.
